Hot Tapping/Line Stopping Service
Hot tapping is a method of employing an under pressure drilling machine to cut a hole in an operating pipeline or storage vessel which allows for a new branch connection from the existing pipe or vessel without any interruption to the flow.
Avionix Energy Hot Tapping service can be used for:
- Insertion of tee-off branch in a pipelines without the need to stop the flow
- Insertion of temperature probes, flow meters, etc.
Line stopping is a procedure that temporarily stops flow in a operating pipeline without depressurizing or purging, so that the isolated section of pipe can be repaired, replaced or altered.
Line Stopping service is used for:
- Isolating a section of operational pipeline for alteration works
- Preparing the pipeline for bypass operation (i.e. divert the pipe flow via a bypass pipeline while performing pipe maintenance or alteration.
