Pipeline Services Division
Avionix Energy provides a variety of pipeline maintenance services. These include pipeline freezing, corrosion protection/pipeline reinforcement, corrosion/coating fault detection, leak detection, leak repair, Leak sealing and hot tapping.
Pipe Freezing Service
Pipe freezing is a is a cost-effective method of performing pipe maintenance without shutting down plant processes. This method involves freezing the contents of a section of pipes by applying a cryogenic (i.e. very low temperature) freezing agent in a controlled manner. When the ice plugs are formed maturely, maintenance works to the pipe can be carried out between the ice plugs without draining massive amount of pipe fluid.
Our Capabilities
Avionix Energy is capable of providing pipe freezing service for the following applications:
- Freezing of oil-based, hydrocarbon-based fluid and sludge
- Freezing of horizontal, vertical and inclined pipes
- Freezing of chilled water, condenser water, sea water
- Freezing of leaking pipes
Pipeline Reinforcement Service
Pipeline corrosion protection and reinforcement is essential in order to curtail the spread of corrosion before it deteriorates into leaks that endanger life and properties.
Our Capabilities
Avionix Energy is capable of providing the following corrosion protection services:
- Above ground or buried pipelines
- Corrosion repair on off shore pipelines
- Solving corrosion problems and reinforcing pipeline wall thickness
- Corrosion repair on pipeline fittings (e.g. elbow, tee, valve, flange, etc.)
- Permanent repair system
Corrosion/ Coating Fault Detection Service
Corrosion/ Coating Fault detection is used for detection of cathodic protection failures to buried pipelines. Using the principle of direct current voltage gradient, we are able to determine the extent of corrosion to buried pipeline beneath the ground.

- Coating/ cathodic protection refurbishment prioritizing
- Determine size of coating defects
- Pipeline installation coating warranty verification
- Interference testing and electrical continuity checks
- Multiple pipelines can be surveyed whilst still connected together
Leak Detection Service
Leak detection is used for detecting leaks in concealed or underground pipeline. We also provide leak reports that specify the number and location of each leak. We employ portable leak detection tools or mobile leak detection equipment to perform the leak detection service depending on our customer’s requirements.

- Leak detection on exposed or above-ground pipelines
- Leak detection on underground or concealed pipelines
- Leak detection for fluid pipelines
- Leak detection for gaseous pipelines
Leak Repair Service
Leak Repair is a quick and effective solution to fix general leak problems, even under active leak conditions. Leak Repair service employ fiberglass tapes to wrap around the leak section area, so that leak can be stopped almost instantly.

- Leak repair under active leak conditions (without need for system shut down)
- Leak repair on liquid and gas pipelines
- Leak repair on straight sections of pipeline, joints, elbow, tees and flanges
- Leak repair on fluid including water, acids, alkalis, hydrocarbons, fuels, solvents, chemicals, gases, bases, slurries, organics and salts
Leak Sealing Service
Leak Sealing is a method of providing safe, controlled onsite and online leak repairs for any leaking process. Leak sealing is especially useful in stopping leaks in high temperature and pressure applications.

- Leak sealing for any pipe size, temperature and pressure
- Leak sealing on any pipeline leaks
Hot Tapping Service
Hot tapping is a method of employing an under pressure drilling machine to cut a hole in an operating pipeline which allows for a new branch connection from the existing pipe without any interruption to the flow
Our Capabilities
Avionix Energy is capable of providing hot tapping service for the following applications:
- Hot tapping of carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, fiberglass, copper and brass pipes
- Wet tapping of cast iron, ductile iron and concrete pipes
- Tapping of pipeline diameter up to 48”
- Tapping of pipeline temperature up to 300°C
- Tapping of pipeline containing oil, gas, water, steam or wastewater.
Gas Services
Avionix Energy is presently seeking a license from the Federal Government of Nigeria, to be able to distribute natural gas to homes and industrial locations. Avionix Gas business segments will consist of Natural Gas Distribution Operations, Bulk Services and Energy Investments. Our Natural Gas Distribution Operations will provide local gas distribution to consumers. The Wholesales Services unit will be primarily involved in energy marketing and trading. This unit will provide our clients ways to optimize energy programs and increase cost effectiveness. The Energy Services unit will support our core business in gas by investing in related companies ranging from pipeline operators to storage facilities to retail outlets.
