Using this technology, acoustic sensors are installed at strategic points on the stretch of pipeline to be monitored. The detection of a leak is based on the detection of the flow transient which is started at the moment of the leakage. When a rupture or fail occurs on the wall of the pipeline, our sensors detect the dynamic hydraulic transient created by the leakage at the moment it occurs. The journey of the transient from the spot of the leak until the next acoustic sensors is measured, permitting the fast localization of the leak, with high precision. In case of leak occurrences, the time of the detection becomes a fundamental parameter to minimize the loss of the product, avoid security risks, environmental disasters, etc. This is the biggest vantage of this technology.
